Welcome to the international page of the Groningen Student Union (Dutch: Groninger Studentenbond, abbreviated GSb). The GSb represents the interests all students in Groningen. The union is active in the areas of housing, education and sustainability.

How can we help you?

Our Student Helpdesk (Steunpunt) can help you with specific problems with your education, landlord, study grant or job. The Helpdesk can be reached at (050) 318 78 98 or Our volunteers understand Dutch and English.

At the Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG), we participate in the University Council (universiteitsraad). For university-related questions, mail Albert Thie (albert@groningerstudentenbond.nl).

At the Hanze University, we participate in the Central Council (Hogeschool Medezeggenschapsraad). For Hanze-related questions, mail Mark Middelburg (mark@groningerstudentenbond.nl).
